Enjoy this carousel of Arena battle images. Has anyone seen Spartacus (2010), the TV show? How about "Gladiator" (2000)? I bet none of you have played tabletop DnD - Dark Sun ('91) or the PC game of it Shattered Lands ('93)...
Pop over for a barbie and a beer mate! (Thats ozzie for "good to see you again")
The great news is that, for the very first time, credits did roll on a player (me) completing Scourge of the Reptiles for the very first time. It won't be long I think before a few testers get to the credits too. That means the game is playable from start to end! All twenty scenes, all 35-40 hours of story campaign. And from here on, its just final polishing left to do - no more broken quests or portals!
I tested the game on Linux (3% of steam users) - surprisingly the Proton version is just faster so thats cool, one less build to maintain. Steam Deck uses Proton too - and soon I will make a custom controls setup for it to play well on the handheld.
What other major features have gone in lately, I hear you ask. We have enemies that panic run if their leader dies - that's fun to whack em in the back as they flee! Great visual effects for elemental weapon strikes; limited recovery times in one dramatic scene; variation spells can be free to buy. And the usual continual upgrades to tooltips so they tell you as much information as you need to know, like skill/ability prerequisites and Ally abilities.
I'm currently flying through a second run of the complete game, tweaking and fixing for balance (thats fight difficulty) and ease of play (thats mostly UI, and game rules being more clear so you can build a character that works well). But also testing dialogue nodes, spells, and tactical tricks that didn't get seen/used on the first run.
